No Purple Tone for Crafts

This is just a warning that no purple tone is provided. Instead, it comes with Orange. And of course the bowls are not as pretty as in the pictures. I would give it to a kid but I wouldn't give a finished product lol.

Pros
  • Durable Test Results
Cons
  • Speed

Clay does not harden after firing.

Turned out delightful but the description 'clay' is misleading - the final product after baking is still flimsy. Not hard tone like I thought. Still cute but I can fold a bowl like a taco! It immediately returns to the shell shape. I just thought it was hard, regular earthenware.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Functionality

Adorable art project with granddaughters

Bought these for my granddaughters to make their own Christmas gifts for their parents this year. This really is an art project! You need to roll out the clay in an ovenproof bowl, shape and bake it, then paint it when it's cool. A longer process than I thought, but even more valuable when the parents finally open their presents! Photos of the process are collected in gift boxes. Hoping it will be a surprise, the granddaughters are dying to tell their parents what they've been up to! Oh thisโ€ฆ

Pros
  • High test results for hold and durability
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Fun little project, great price

Cool set. Everything is neatly packed and organized. The instructions are clear and well written. Before you buy, make sure you have an oven safe bowl - you'll put your clay in it to shape as you bake it. Recommended: I found this made the bowls the size of drink coasters, and that was the size I was aiming for. They will still be a little brittle after baking, but should be firm and completely dry by tomorrow. Only 2 complaints. At first I used fluorescent orange clay instead of lavender (orโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Excellent construction

  • Can't remember

Nice! Works exactly as expected! Ideal.

OK. I'm NOT an art teacher, but if you think it's going to look like a baked piece of clay, it doesn't because it's not the right kind of clay. and need to use this type or clay and buy an oven if that's what you expect. This works VERY well for kids crafts. Exactly as stated. For children from 8 years old it is not so difficult. Ours sat in the mailbox all day in the heat and we did it straight away which made the clay nice and soft or pliable instead of being all hard. We also used an airโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Negative gift
