Although Revain's product description says it's made in Japan, it's actually made in China. The processing of this product is also NOT as good as that of older Hairo products. Stainless steel is thinner and the lid doesn't fit snugly on the top.

We are used to buying "Japan" on the condition of quality control. I think these days are going to end quickly. read reviews. Our out-of-the-box didn't even take two minutes. the top part of the lid is broken off. It's easy to see why. Only one of the 3 tiny pins was connected. Poor workmanship (box and goods from China). Watch out for rust. We glued it on top. I'm not even sure if it's Hario (ignoring the markings). The English translation was quite clumsy.

Pay special attention to the country of origin when ordering this kettle, it must be from Japan, not from China, if it is from China use it with care because it will rust over time and may fail due to a broken handle. I just returned mine for a full refund before even trying to use it as I was using a 'fake' from China and wasn't happy with its quality. I don't blame Amazon but there is a reason this product is being sold so cheaply on Amazon as the 'real' Hario is a quality product.
