I made a lot of these as a kid! This big loom/tack is great. However, the colors of the loops are random. Not enough of each color to make two potholders. Mine had too much green and not enough purple and even less blue so it was disappointing. Considering the price of the hinges, it would be nice if they packaged the correct (same) number of colors so at least two would match. Allows me to pick new patterns as the potholder has more stitches and my friends like bigger potholders. Far Exceeds My Expectations. I kept promising my granddaughter a loom to make potholders, just like when I was a kid and just like when my daughter (her mother) was little. The loom is very durable, the instructions are easy to read and are accompanied by photos. The finished size of the potholder is smaller than that of a loom, but large enough to protect hands when handling hot objects. The colored bows that came with the kit were a good example, but I'd suggest buying some other pattern packs. Later you can buy individual packs with the colors you prefer. I love solid metal machines. The teeth are angled outwards to prevent the loops from slipping off. The bows are quite expensive but the pot holders are beautiful and very giftable. People who complain about the odd amount of each color you should really learn to read. The packaging clearly states that unless you purchase one color, the loops are compounded by dimensional weight and not the same quantity of each color.
