Most excellent good for me

The best Calligraphy paper. Even though it costs more, use this for practice use it and watch yourself improve. Poor paper makes your writing look bad and you think it's hopeless but in fact it's most likely your paper. At least get one pad so you can see your true results then hack on other paper. But! The reason the professionals tell you to practice on good paper is you improve way faster with true and dependable results and honestly it costs less because you can get the detailed sight of…

Pros
  • I've used Rhodia pap
Cons
  • Paper quality is poor

Five star, but not for my purposes

This is a good quality paper, and works well with most water based inks that tend to bleed through. Although I enjoy some of the Diamine inks, and others, mostly I use Noodler’s inks, which do not bleed through, even on cheap school notebooks. The Rhodia paper seems to be heavily coated, which causes some drag on the pen. It’s fine for jotting or for taking notes in a meeting or sermon, but not for what I call "long write,” which for me can mean hours at a time. I find my hand getting fatigued…

Pros
  • Paper within the notepad is made from Clairefontaine 80g Superfine Vellum
Cons
  • Price is too high for its quality

Smooth and opaque best in my review

This is a pretty hard surfaced, smooth paper. The opacity is tremendous! You can use both sides even with a fairly bold pen & ink combo. The surface is the exact opposite of copy paper - smooth and not so absorbent. You will never see feathering.Notice that Rhodia (and Clairfontaine of course) don't do paper sizes in primitive earth technology English units.Only 4 stars though in that for me at least it is a little too hard. Sometimes there is a little pooling of ink on a stroke, and sometimes…

Pros
  • Cardboard back and the ruling is in grey
Cons
  • Pages easily wrinkle and tear

Very High Quality Pad

Excellent paper, works well if you use a fountain pen as the ink does not soak in. Also the perforations are very good and the pages remove cleanly from the pad. Possibly the best pad of paper that I have used.Only drawback - the grid lines are a little darker / bolder than I would like - next pad may be a dot pad.Note that the paper is A4 sized, not 8 1/2 x 11 standard US size. So about an inch taller overall than a standard US size writing pad. I like the additional writing area, and my…

Pros
  • Office Products
Cons
  • Unsuitable for left-handed writers

Great for brush pen lettering

I love this paper! It is very smooth. I am using it for brush pen lettering practice. The paper has no bleed -thru and I use the blank sheet on the back for pencil embellishments and sketches. Pages are easy tearout and the dots are excellent guides during practice.

Pros
  • Ideal for on-the-go creative professionals
Cons
  • Not customizable

I am one of those people always in search of the perfect tool for any given task. As I spend much of my day writing notes, mind-mapping, diagramming, and then reading my notes, writing implements and paper are very important to me. This Rhodia dot pad is a rare find for me in that it meets two key criteria. First, it had a dot grid rather than ruled lines or a lined grid, both of which I find to be very distracting on the page, as they are usually colored too darkly. Not only do the dots more…

Pros
  • Stylish design makes it appropriate for business meetings and presentations
Cons
  • Pages yellow quickly

Love it for calligraphy practice!

It is so smooth! The grid is the perfect size, and it is just slightly transparent so I can trace if needed. Great with brush calligraphy pens.

Pros
  • Paper
Cons
  • Difficult to tear pages cleanly

Perfect Dot Pad for Sketchers & Letterers!

The Rhodia Black Dot pad is PERFECT for anyone interested in lettering or even sketching. The dots make it so easy to line things up without being too distracting. I find I'm able to use the dot pads much easier then graph paper. Some people sketch out lines to keep their words or sketches straight but this saves so much time!I also like that the dots aren't too dark. They are just the right shade to use and yet still don't show up too much when I share pictures of my work online.Another thing…

Pros
  • Durable enough to withstand being tossed around in a bag or backpack
Cons
  • Cover design is uninteresting

Stands up to the wettest fountain pen ink!

Rhodia is my first choice for note-taking and generally any writing that I do outside of a journal. The surface of the paper stands up to the wettest of my fountain pens. The written lines are crisp and don't feather. The ink won’t bleed through to the other side. And the light dots keep me writing straight without needing to use lined paper. Rhodia is the standard writing paper for a reason!

Pros
  • Rhodia is known for their high-quality paper
Cons
  • Packaging is wasteful

Fantastic paper. Useful, versatile, and affordable.

Fantastic paper. Super smooth, resilient, non-absorbent. It's somehow all of these things yet still very light, so it has a delicate and elegant feel. I used a crow quill nib (a dip pen nib specifically made for thin lines which therefore has a needle sharp point and catches on everything, for those who aren't familiar) with very thin fountain pen ink, and the Rhodia is the only paper I could find out of my options that doesn't allow it to bleed and feather to the point of incomprehensibility…

Pros
  • A perfect gift for the stylish and organized person in your life
Cons
  • No hardcover option

Very good for calligraphers and Artists alike!

This is an amazing notebook, and I recommend to any calligrapher or artist out there. The paper takes a lot to actually bleed through (I'm talking pouring in FROM the bottle) so that will never be a worry. The paper itself is very high quality; it is smooth and non porous so your ink won't spread when you write. it works like calligraphy paper but it's practical, and thin. You can use it as tracing paper, or with calligraphy guidelines. All in all I highly recommend this, you will not be…

Pros
  • A7 size is ideal for those who like to keep things minimalist
Cons
  • No perforation for easy tearing

Super smooth paper. I'm enjoying it.

I'm very particular about the texture of paper. I’ve spent many years in search of the "perfect” combination of paper and pen. Not exactly an obsession but always a consideration when I’m shopping. The paper is very smooth and works well with my fountain pens. The inks that I use vary in color, texture and brand and so far I have had no trouble with bleed through. Very dark inks will show through a little but not badly. I use a broad nib pen most of the time.I find the paper very comfortable to

Pros
  • Great for keeping track of creative inspiration and ideas
Cons
  • No option for pre-punched pages

Perfect for designing quilts, drawing, calligraphy

What can I say? These notebooks are absolutely perfect the paper is thick enough or nothing bleeds through at least with my pilot G7 pens. Expensive though.

Pros
  • Great for bullet journaling, taking notes, doodling, and more
Cons
  • No pocket for storage

Good paper for my opinion

Good paper, fountain pen friendly. Good for testing new fountain pens and writing brief notes. Not that good if you want to write for long writing sessions as it has some kind of drag when write, it make it more difficult to write for long time. Compared with tomeo river paper, this more expensive and less quality. But overall good.

Pros
  • Perfect for those who prefer to write by hand rather than typing
Cons
  • Too expensive for its size

Cut it to length you want!

I was looking for rhodia paper in a notepad the same size as my old ones (3"x6") but couldn't find one. This one was perfect just way too long to fit in my pocket. But I'm here to tell you no problem, simply cut it to length that you want. Done. I used a bandsaw and slid it through. The end of the notebook is nice and smooth like the sides.Great paper and I love flip behind cover!

Pros
  • Lightweight and easy to carry, but still feels substantial enough to make an impact
Cons
  • Too lightweight

So much better than using a spiral school notebook

I questioned paying a "bit" more money on a notebook by Rhodia to use in writing w/my fountain pen. I always thought "paper shmaper, its all the same." I was very wrong. This is my fourth Rhodia notebook and I am a complete convert to the idea of quality over quantity when it comes to using Rhodia pads instead of crappy typing paper or "school-use notebooks". The dots on this iteration allow for horizontal writing, and the paper doesn't bleed when used with a wetter fountain pen ink. Well worth

Pros
  • The vibrant orange cover is eye-catching and helps it stand out in a sea of notebooks
Cons
  • Not water-resistant
