Too bad we didn't read the reviews. Color changing is just peeling color off gems, and they aren't mermaids. Not a mermaid at all. It was for my daughter's birthday and we chased the postman to get it. A big disappointment that not only do they not have mermaid tails but the color change means blue color in our white bowl. I ordered a more expensive set that looks like real mermaids.

The video shows that Hatchimals have mermaid tails that change color in the water. But apparently this is not the right set. This Hatchimals set DOES NOT have mermaid tails. They hold "jewels" that change color when first dipped in water. Then they stay in the new color. I looked back and saw that the description of the product actually refers to jewelry, not dicks. But the ads on pictures showing cocks are very misleading and has resulted in a very disappointed little girl.

I wish I had read the reviews before buying but I checked the advertised description and included video like most disappointed buyers do. very disappointed when my 4 year old asked me why they weren't mermaids. They "do not discolour", the color simply washes off and does not go back to its original color. Even the package itself fits in the palm of my hand. Worst $13 I've ever spent on a toy. Cannot be returned as it is already in use. I am very upset and hope no one wastes money on this…

My 6 year old niece loves all little things especially Hatchimals. I got them because they were different than the usual ones she has. She likes them but they are not what I expected. They are not mermaids or anything like that. And they don't change color. You wash them off, the color comes off and that color stays forever.
