I have to say this little gadget is wonderful. It cleans the mascara brush and removes excess dry clumps from the brush, leaving the mascara smooth and clean when applied. It's almost like using a brand new mascara wand. For an older woman it is important that the eyelashes do not clump; it only makes you look older. I also use it to clean my brow applicator brush. This thing is amazing in that it takes care of everything you don't really need. Once you've applied it, use a wand to scoop any excess product out of the device and put it back into the tube. I am very satisfied with this product. This greatly simplifies the process of "partitioning" my mascara - I've been using wipes which make a big mess and the wipe breaks and I end up having to rip pieces of it off the mascara wand. . aaaaa! It's a much cleaner, easier method and a lot less waste as I don't waste tissue and can use the excess mascara as eyeliner. Fantastic product!

Works as described. I would suggest doing it in a color other than black to better see the scratched off mascara. It would be less mess and easier to clean.
