These are cute little fake monitors

They emulate a monitor connected to your computer's graphics card. This is important for very specific applications. For me I use remote Linux boxes, which I log into from my phone using TeamViewer to manage the Folding@Home grid computing application. Without either of them connected to a remote computer, the graphics sent to my phone are low resolution and awful. This dummy connector makes the computer display something to watch out for and makes my remote sessions a lot more productive.

Works with a VNC server and CRU software to get 2560 x 1080 (or more) resolution on an ultrawide monitor!

This is a great product and worked with my headless computers to get a display (instead of a black screen) for my Windows VNC software - but I've never been able to to "maximize" the server. VNC due to my ultra wide monitor resolution (2560x1080). The choice of 2560 x 1080p never appeared on Windows. -- But I've found that you can use a program called CRU, add 2560x1080 as a profile, reboot, and then 2560x1080p will show us the choices, and then you can set it. -- Because this device handlesโ€ฆ

Works great for keeping the display active on headless machines.

. The problem is that when I turn off and restart the monitor, the remote display has a very low resolution. I've used the forced resolution dummy display method in the past, but if I ever had a problem and really needed to connect a monitor, the real display just went blank. Get into this great plug/display emulator. Now I leave one of those little adapters plugged in and everything works the same as if I had an active monitor plugged in, and if I run into problems and it should be necessary I

Works great in computer accessories and peripherals

Solved my problem of TeamViewer or other PC remote control applications not showing some application windows. Technical support found that the GPU shuts down when the monitor is off and no display is connected to the GPU. As a result, video-accelerated application windows do not appear on the screen. As a result, I always have a display connected, even when my main monitor is off. Now I can connect to my PC remotely without any problems.
