Very important. Four needed. Plenty left for future uses.

These were used along with thermal grease to fix an infamous factory defect in the Ford Focus stereo. 6 weeks so far without cracking and noise. If the repair holds up, that means you'll spend a few dollars instead of a few hundred to buy a replacement module with the same built-in defect.

After all, it's just extruded aluminum, so what can we say? They might have done a better packaging deal but that probably wouldn't have changed my rating. I keep 4 stars for things that exceed my expectations. It met my expectations, nothing more nothing less, it got an average score. Note: There is no thermal tape included, which is what I wanted, but this is not explicitly stated in the product description.

Well made, do what they're supposed to do

I bought these to use on a cheap motherboard with no MOSFET cooling. I installed them with Arctic Silver glue and they work fine. The board showed some instability when I first unlocked the clock speed on all Xenon CPU cores before installing them, but it's working fine now. Also used a couple on an older graphics card which was heating up and showing some artifacts on the screen which fixed this issue. No complaints, just a simple product that does what it's supposed to do with no major flaws.
