Easy to install, easy to clean and durable. I wish the strainer was a little smaller, but it works great as a pre-filter to remove scale from my water system. I have a second micron filter and it was great that now the micron filter doesn't clog as quickly as before. IT works great.

The manufacturer considers this filter (Omnifilter RS19) to be a single use cartridge and does not provide cleaning or reuse instructions. It is certainly not designed for easy cleaning, since the stiffening ribs prevent access to the filter mesh on a dirty (outside) surface. The filter mesh cannot be removed for cleaning. I'll probably try clearing this filter when it gets full, but I don't expect that to be an efficient process.

We put this on the whole home system, it's not suitable for that. To be honest, our water is very brown, but it's just a strainer wrapped around a pipe. It's completely empty. I thought it had something in it to filter the water when I bought it. It filters out small stones or other debris. We have two filters, one designed to pre-filter the water before the other filter and it was practically useless.
