Not bright! Not 80-100W as advertised! CHARACTER

Revain product webpage says 80-100W OFF-ROAD ONLY. Well, not 80-100 watts! Definitely not bright! And the only reason they're only used off-road is that you could be stopped by a blown headlight on city streets or on the freeway. They return. Waste of time installing and uninstalling. I'll just go with $5 autQzone bulbs instead as they are 5x brighter than those Optilux Hella junkers. Two stars because one star ratings are often not published and we cannot rate zero stars.

Gave us real 2001 Taurus headlights again!

We used to be able to barely see our headlights when driving and leaving high beam, no one blinked at us and they were properly aimed and had transparent lenses. The old ones were maybe 8 years old and lost performance. On the first drive, only the reflections from the street signs seemed too bright to Law. We tried them on the high beam and the first car lit up on us. Now we can just use low beam and really see the road and everything else on the side of the road. I didn't want crazy bright…

Installed on a Windstar for a trip

I bought this for a trip a friend was planning to take across the country over the next few months. They are definitely brighter than the standard Sylvania bulbs that were already in the car. A car with only one bulb for high and low beams with no fog lights seems to allow them to get the power they need from a standard wiring harness and relay. I see some recommending using them with heavier gauge wires and an upgraded relay, but in the case of the Ford Windstar they're fine so far. Time will…

Brighter headlights for less than $3? Eat clear!

For less than $3 a bulb, this is a bargain that's hard to beat! For as long as I can remember (at the age of 52), Hella has been one of the most reliable manufacturers of car lighting. These are standard color (temperature) bulbs, so no problem with law enforcement. And more power means more light on the road, which is ALWAYS welcome. Ease of installation depends on the vehicle, and it was a real bear in my 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis. It's the car, not the lightbulb. If safe driving is…

Not 80w/100w lighting and lighting accessories

I've been using standard 55w/65w lightbulbs for years, thought it would be nice to have them back so I bought them, that Word "disappointing" doesn't do anything remotely describe it. These bulbs are nowhere near as bright as the stock bulbs. The lights were so dim that at 3:45 am I drove 20 miles to work with my high beams on and no car going the other way flashed my high beams, most of those miles are on a dual carriageway. Street. I would try to return them but didn't think it was worth the…

Better Than LEDs - Bulbs

I've tried several 9007 LEDs and of course the dual filament capability of the 9007 bulb made the critical difference between the 'high beam' and 'low beam' of these LEDs negligible. Having given up halogens a bit reluctantly, I'm actually very satisfied, I used to buy HELLA products and they were great quality at a great price, these 9007 bulbs are no different, great light with high beam. and a good wide view of the road, even deviating to the rain gutters with the dipped headlights on. While

Pros

Arrived safe and sound for delivery. couldn't get in yet. Although I've seen high wattage bulbs on other cars, they're probably brighter in reflector housings. same light quality as usual, approx. 3200K. Some cars melt plugs, they need upgraded high temperature plugs to work with high power halogens. Some need to change the wiring up to the fuse box or relay to a larger gauge. If your application has 12 gauge wires, it's worth a try. does not melt immediately. (Edit) Bought 65/55W Xtreme Yellow

WARNING! READ BEFORE BUYING

Good. So I bought it two years ago. (80/100W bulbs) In that time I've driven about 40,000 miles, 75-80% of it in the dark. They haven't burned out yet. HOWEVER they melted my factory spark plugs two months ago. I bought a new set of spark plugs, high temperature spark plugs, and after a couple of months they melted those plugs too. Last week the passenger side headlight melted and grounded around the base. Both lights went out while driving. I only made it home because I turned on the offroad…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Unreliable

The bad first (because that's the most important thing) They advertise her as extremely white, like Hyde. But they are not. They are creamier than standard but still noticeably yellow. It looks like if you read all the wording on the page you will actually realize that it is 4300 Kelvin light. And you need 5000 to be white. It would be nice if they made it clearer and didn't advertise it as extreme light, or if they just made them extremely white. It says they are definitely brighter than…
