Buy a winding spool if you want your child to be able to easily and nicely lift the kite. Much easier to hold than the silly little plastic pieces that come with kites. Without something like this, there's no way a kid will be able to unleash a kite from hundreds of feet in the air. The only very noticeable disadvantage is the very weak blocking ability of the locking handle. Very often the stylus can get lost during handling, which is actually very dangerous for the fingers.
