Hengs JRP2120B White Vent Damper Review

One of the hinge tips broke on the first pull, same failure as the previous dampener. I will investigate alternative ways to pivot this damper into an existing housing. that I will buy an alternative henga vent assembly. Update: Using a straight section of wire hanger and some strong clear tape I was able to create a new solid hinge on the replacement damper plate. I had to cut off a surviving plastic hinge tip. The damper was exactly the same size, design and construction as the original. Installation took less than five minutes and if done correctly, does not damage the product as reported in the negative review. There are no instructions. The key to a proper installation is to loosen the two outer screws on the vent cover (see photos) and move it away from the van body as intended. I have already changed this valve 3 times on our trailer. The small flimsy plastic struts that hold this lid and flip it over break easily. If you don't secure it before driving, it may break and fall out. If you secure it well, the plastic will age and the tiny pins will break and it will fall out. Just bad design and weak materials.
