The collar is very effective for training a puppy on a leash. This collar will not fall apart like the Herm Sprenger Spiked Collar. I have both types and I 100% prefer this HS collar. It doesn't look as impressive as the other type of HS collar. The disadvantage of this technical collar is the price (very expensive) and it is quite difficult to remove the links to make the collar smaller. I removed 2 links to fit my pup. Started with a standard collar but chose the neck technology because it looks great and isn't as "aggressive". These things work like a charm, solid construction. You don't have to worry about missing rubber tips or links that tighten like traditional collars. Beautifully made and durable. My dog reacts to wearing a collar without correction. Pleasantly surprised by the effectiveness without discomfort when used correctly. There is no doubt that these are beautiful collars. In terms of how well this collar controls our dog: - On a scale of 1 to 3, where ONE is a regular chain/choke collar and THREE is a spiked collar with real spikes, I'll give this collar a TWO.
