Simple and efficient

A simple and efficient machine for slicing boiled eggs. Just hold the egg until it hooks onto the wires, then push down. Clean cuts every time and dishwasher safe so cleanup is a breeze.

Pros
  • Finally purchased
Cons
  • Upgrades

DO NOT recommend

My balls just slipped out. Please don't even try the tomato. was good for the mushrooms. not deep enough to pick up what you're trying to cut. something as simple as an egg slicer. not worth the time let alone the money

Pros
  • great product
Cons
  • unreliable

Junk: mandolins and slicers

I find you get what you pay for - too small, not dishwasher safe, difficult to clean with dangling wires. Not happy at all. Next time I'll pay a little more for something you can use. It went straight in the trash.

Pros
  • Several competitors
Cons
  • Functionality

Color after wash (red)

the base turned a dark red metallic color when I washed it before use! I'm not sure what metal it is, says Zinc Alloy. poisonous? Who knows. And of course, zinc is a white metal, not a deep dark red. I wish I had bought the plastic, at least I would have known what it is actually made of, I should have read all the reviews, this one went in the trash!

Pros
  • Durable test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Works great.

We've used it to slice olives, mushrooms, strawberries and pickles (after cutting them to the right length) and this slicer handled it all with ease. It's a lot faster than slicing them by hand and a lot easier than using our grater. Just don't try to cut olives that still have pits. this is how I broke the last slicer 🙄

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Nothing like it

Well built but can't handle big balls

Got this to replace an old plastic that broke. I decided to try an all metal one, although the old one broke not the plastic part but the wires. This is well made, durable, but too small. I can make a very large egg on the side fairly easily, but if I want to make a vertical cut and need it to point towards the loop, all too often the pieces get stuck under the top as it comes down. I can tuck my finger under the bottom while cutting to avoid snagging and it sort of works, but it's a little…

  • Well built

Luxurious egg slicer from HIC. Stay away

Three mistakes in 3 minutes. I took it out of the box but there was no small rubber rear leg. I found it in my purse but now you'll have to re-glue it if you're lucky and you have the right glue for metal and rubber on hand. I didn't pickle the mushroom and the miracle slicer didn't cut all the way through. tried a second mushroom and same problem. examined the relationship of the wires. to break the cup, and of course, and here. The wires didn't go all the way. The cup was too deep. maybe with
