Description of HIC Infuser Stainless BPA Free Plastic

HIC’s Frog and Lily Pad Tea Infuser hangs onto the cup rim to steep a more distinct and flavorful cup of loose leaf tea with a touch of fun. Made from 18/8 stainless steel and BPA-free plastic; includes infuser and drip tray; compact for easy storage; measures 3-inches x 2-inches. Easy to open, fill and empty; use spring tab to open, fill halfway with loose tea, hang onto the cup rim, and pour in hot water. Steep 3-minutes to release the tea’s essential oils for maximum aroma and flavor, or until desired strength is achieved; great for mulling spices, too. Fun for kids of all ages; reusable and more economical than using store-bought or disposable tea bags; rinse or dishwasher safe for easy cleanup.

Poor packaging and brewing

Bought this as a gift - the brewer's box was covered in crumpled tape making it unacceptable for a gift. To make matters worse, there are very few openings, which makes brewing the tea difficult as no water can get into the tea.

For storing smaller tea leaves

Not for smaller loose tea. The holes are a bit big so small items in the floral/herbal teas will fall right through the holes, defeating the purpose of this product. Besides, it is a cute product for children.

Pros
  • Home & Kitchen
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

My robot was summoned by tiny druids in tiny Stonehenge.

My little robot has received many compliments. It hangs nicely on cups of different sizes and is quite durable. The tea I used didn't spill from the pot either, so that's a good thing. Functional and I make people jealous of my robot. Good business.

Pros
  • Tea strainers and filters
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Cute but not functional

I bought a tea maker because it was cute. This technically works, but will skip an invalid number of hands. Usually enough to cover the bottom of a cup. Maybe it would work better with a different mix, with bigger leaves, but it doesn't work for me. (I'm using Twinings Lady Gray as a reference)

Pros
  • Coffee, tea and espresso
Cons
  • Volume

Adds a twist to tea making

I have been using this tea brewing robot for a long time. I was concerned that it was a little flimsy but it held up and any closure issues I had with closing can usually be fixed by bending the metal ears a bit. In fact, my only complaint is that it opens in the middle. I usually fill it all the way up (to make a pot of tea, not just a cup) and it can be frustrating to close it and not lose the tea leaves. But that's really my only complaint. I'm glad I made the decision to purchase.
