HIC Infuser YI 2423 Stainless Mulling Review

This tea strainer works much better than the old ones which are hinged and often don't stay closed. It's easy to fill, the stainless steel looks new and goes well with all my loose tees. The only downside is that the spring is very stiff when new, requiring some breaking the first few times you use it.

2 pieces bought. One has a factory marriage; the gap between the mesh and the rim, the other is so-so. I checked with the seller and they said that since I don't return the item within 30 days they would replace it but charge me $2 for shipping. When an item sells for $2.99, that's ridiculous. Also, they have to apologize for selling me a faulty product.

I liked this idea I bought the cheapest I could try. Worked fine for a week and then died. I don't know if it was the dishwasher or the danger of a full sink but for some reason it won't close all the way so all the tea spills out. When you use loose leaf tea it is also difficult to load and then my tea was weak even when I drank it as much as possible. So in general too weak, cheap. I will buy another one but not this one.

This is a great brew, I usually fill mine about half full (sometimes a little less) and the tea has enough room to double when steeped. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because mine took on a copper tint after a few uses that I can't wash off. Besides, it's exactly what I was looking for! no snags on the net like others I've had (although I still get nervous running my fingers over the inside while cleaning from previous experience with the net :P) 9/10 would definitely recommend…

I prefer this style over mesh because loose tee is easier to get out of the bag and the hinge tends to be stronger and stay closed better. However, for some reason it is more difficult to find - both in stores and on the Internet. I borrowed one from my mom who had them for ages and thought I needed some of my own but this brand doesn't seem to be as high quality as the old one. Have been using for a few months now everything is great! I love how the design keeps the tea submerged and also has a handle to stir the water. This is definitely the best teapot I've ever used for preventing tiny particles of tea from spilling out. I also had no problem keeping the sphere closed.
