Great little card reader CAC

Great little card reader. It would get 5 stars except that it doesn't hold up very well on its stand. I actually taped it to the stand and it does exactly what I need it to.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Some flaws

Good price but no instructions in the box

Good price but no instructions for installing the reader in the box. It took me 2 days and a visit to my IT for help installing it. I wish this product had an installation wizard.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Sipr cac reader - memory card reader

If your S2, S4 and S6 are all pointing at each other and saying it's someone else, it's easier to get your own. Yes, this is your sipr cac reader. No, you don't need to put a secret sticker. No, no information is saved. Yes, it works via nipr as an external. $20 for bypassing the office madness - a small price to pay

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Was damaged

Solid Card Reader: Computer Accessories & Peripherals

I have a government issued smart card that I needed to use with my office machine. This card reader was able to read this card without any problems. However, I bought this special version because I wanted to read the magazine chip card for the C2 rowing machine. This card reader was recognized by the C2 software and I was able to get the magazines off the card without any problems. This reader is much cheaper than C2 brand card reader.

Pros
  • Award winning design
Cons
  • Can't remember

What many call a CAC card reader

If you work from home and work in an area where you need this device, you know what it's for. Anyway, this version is just a plug and play device on a Windows 10 laptop. It just worked right out of the box and all I did was just plug it in and then use the appropriate card. I will be buying another one as a spare, I like it for the reason I mentioned (it works) and because it stands upright. yes it is plastic But so far it's been a great tool that works well.

Pros
  • Heavy Duty
Cons
  • Secret

Worked out of the box.

Worked straight away with my card. One star deducted because there was no documentation with it so I almost thought it was broken or not compatible with my setup. By inserting a card you achieve a soft "stop”. You have to press a little harder to insert the card a few more millimeters up to the "hard" stop so that the card is recognized. You can recognize the recognition by the fact that the display flashes quickly. If you don't press it after a soft stop, the card won't be recognized.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Something different

Concept 2 PM3 log card reader not working on OS 10.12.x

Apparently this card reader is not working with Concept 2 Rower PM3 log card for OS X 10.12 (Sierra) - not even after downloading the specific BETA- Driver for Sierra OS X version. The problem (according to Concept 2 website) is that it is an Omnikey 3121 version 3, not version 1 or 2. But the 3121 version number is not listed in any of the descriptions of this product Revain nor is it listed on the device itself.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • exchange availability
