Cosmo Approved! in Birds

Like some other reviews, I have the picky African Grey. Cosmo seems to love this food. Contrary to other reviews he loves seeds but when I feed him a food that contains seeds it seems like he only eats this of the mix. With this mixture he seems to eat more varied.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • So far so good

parrot food suitable for birds

No sunflower seeds. Hooray. my Senegal and Quaker love this mix. You don't waste it like other cheap products. I also get Higgins for parakeets for my Quaker. be warned. My birds don't eat pellets in it. I got some Rooibos granules in addition to this diet. I also feed vegetables and fruit and baked chicken. My birds are spoiled, but they are over 25 years old.

  • Free for educational purposes

While my gray loves it after dinner.

My gray seems to like it. I mix it in with her regular afternoon meal. Reading some of the other negative reviews I'll keep an eye on them, but as with human food, sometimes things can slip through and create a bad batch. It's a sad reality that has struck everyone from Dole to Chipoltl. Not to say that this is normal, but it is a reality.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Great mix to work with other fresh feed and pellets

Our birds mostly eat fresh feed and vegan feed but they get dry pellets and this Higgins Saffflower Gold as well as some other nuts, beans and peppers. Higgins always smells fresh and our birds love to rummage through the mix in search of their favourites. It's good for encouraging foraging, and this mix does just that! love this product!

Pros
  • Handy thing
Cons
  • Getting in trouble

My Parrot's Favorite

My Quaker loves this food. I'm glad Revain carries it because it's getting harder and harder to find sunflower-free bird seed. I've had birds all my life and none of them have eaten seeds so I don't see why this is the standard. eat and it just smells fresh when you open the bag.

Parrot likes the seed

This is by far the best food I have found for my gray parrot. It eats all the seeds but usually not the added colored parts. I want to be able to get seeds with no fillers. This mix has fewer added bits than other brands I've tried, so there's less waste. I feed my parrot Harrison High Potency Semolina so I don't need those mystery parts for the extra nutrition (if there is any). I give what he leaves to the chickens, but it's a bit expensive for chicken feed.

Pros
  • Grand Prize
Cons
  • Big and Bulky

A good guide for you, adorable parrot!

I have been using this product with fruit and veg for almost 40 years. Our oldest parrot died at the age of 53, my middle parrot is 35 and my child is 22. We believe this pure and wonderful bird seed has made a difference. It is very important for new parrot owners to understand that a seed-only diet is too fat for parrots. Fresh fruits and vegetables are a must. Vets recommend a small amount of seeds. The vets also want the birds to eat the pellets but my three won't eat them no matter what I…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
