Accurate and easy to connect

These sensors are easy to connect and there are many options for getting readings for Arduino based platforms. I use at least one of these to monitor sous vide via mqtt with esp8266 and logging has been accurate and stable so far. No resistors or other external components are required to interact with it. They also seem to seal very well so you don't have to worry about water ingress if you're using them as a submersible temperature sensor.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Frequency

Good Price Wired Temperature Sensors

Each has a long cable so you don't have to fiddle around to connect to a small component. The three inner wires are stripped and tinned at the ends so I can just crimp them with pins and plug them into my breadboard. I am accessing a temperature sensor using a Microchip PIC12F1822 to generate time accurate signals. Eventually I got one that gave me a temperature, but mostly I learned about the 1-wire protocol. I hope to do something to help brew.

Pros
  • Temperature Sensors & Sensors
Cons
  • Easily Torn

Digital temperature sensors outperform analog ones at all times.

I bought these to bury our geothermal wells and hot springs. You can parallel them in large numbers for very easy wiring when using multiple sensors. Each has a unique serial number that allows them to "talk" to the microcontroller over the same line. And there are no additional analog sensor components to manage on long cables. I can have many of them in our deep well and the maximum temperature setting allows them to get a true picture of the temperature gradient in the hot well of a WWII…

Pros
  • Industrial & Scientific
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

5 packs at an affordable price

Using a NodeMcu and a 4.7K resistor I was able to easily test the probe. I want to use it to monitor my fridge/freezer in the garage. Because you can daisy chain multiple devices, it's easy to control different zones with one microcontroller. I used NodeMcu and Lua for test code. You need the ow 1-wire module built into the firmware. Then find ds18b20.lua on github under nodemcu-firmware lua_modules ds18b20. I used esptool to flash NodeMcu and ESplorer to flash the code. Would have given 5…

Pros
  • Test, measure and inspect
