Works with Linux (Ubuntu)

This works for me on an unraid VM running Ubuntu for the xLights Christmas display. It just worked. I have it in the living room of the house and ranges 40-50 feet to the street. When plugged into a USB port, it only shows up as an audio device. I soldered a 10ft 16ga speaker wire to it for the antenna and hung it as high and close to the window as possible. Again it just works. It is very easy to change channels.

Pros
  • Broadcast Frequency: 76.0-108.0MHz
Cons
  • Volume

That was great. about two minutes.

What can I say? I soldered the antenna cable, connected it to the computer's USB port for power, set the frequency, connected the audio cable and turned on the music. It sounded great on the FM receiver next to the computer. It sounded great on the FM receivers around the house. Then suddenly *crack* *crack* *crack* . and silence. I now have a neat little widget that will happily broadcast silence on whatever FM frequency you want. Unfortunately, I was looking for something that can stream…

Pros
  • Adaptive antenna: 75 cm rod antenna
Cons
  • Slightly dented

Makes the job cheap

So we have a relay/speaker based Christmas light show kit that turns on and off strings for either internal music or external AUX. I didn't want to disturb the neighbors or force people to roll down their windows in the Iowa winter. So I bought a speaker to line level converter so I can take the speaker output and send it to this guy for radio broadcasts! Works great, but more than quiet. Get ready to turn up the receiver volume. The sound quality was. OK, but the source wasn't exactly good…

Pros
  • Modulation Mode: Standard FM
Cons
  • No Automatic
