I flashed this for use with Zigbee2MQTT and Home Assistant using a Raspberry Pi and some alligator clips. I had to bend the pins to install the clamps but it wasn't difficult. It is good value for money and works as expected. The range is not great. If you are willing to wait for shipping from China, you can get it with an antenna for a similar price on other sites. Purchased to replace SmartThings hub with Zigbee2MQTT. I 3D printed a case for it and was able to modify the RP-SMA antenna to increase the signal strength. I flashed the Z-Stack firmware onto it using an ESP8266 board and some alligator clips. The pins are very small, so be careful not to accidentally short any connections. Zigbee2MQTT found this with no problems and I was able to add some lightbulbs and remotes with no problem.
