This blanket stinks! It smells like oil has been poured over it. I won't wash it because it won't have enough side length anyway and will be too small after shrinking.

Yes, the ratings are correct. Unfortunately IT LOOKS like a great duvet for a great price BUT once you wash it it's a nightmare. I ordered a queen and it shrank to a twin and the fuzzy mess this product made was a disaster. My washing machine was full to the brim with bits of comforter and I cleaned the dryer filter dozens of times over the course of several hours before the comforter was decent enough to throw off. Do not buy.

I was drawn to the price and fabric of this cotton blanket. It's fairly tightly woven and should avoid serious snags. Some reviews mention less than desirable results after washing and drying. This was not my experience. Cotton is a natural fibre, so use cold water, a gentle or gentle wash and a low temperature to dry. You can see the blanket coming out of the dryer - just fine. The amount of lint was not unusual for natural fibers and the first wash. They are for my grandchildren in bunk beds.

I bought a California king size blanket. Terrible ceiling. After reading the care instructions, I washed it in cold water and dried it on a gentle cycle. My 102" x 108" duvet shrank 12" on one side and 8" on the other. Now this blanket is 90 x 100 inches and I'm afraid if I wash it again it will just keep shrinking. After reading the other reviews I took the break in advice and bought the QUEEN size for my FULL size cot. When opened, it covered the queen-size bed in my house, but lo and behold, after being washed in warm water and tumble dried, it shrank a full size to a double bed. Glad you noticed. I have a queen size bed but I noticed my mistake with my other blanket (not that brand but the Belk brand) which had shrunk so I could don't fill up like I like to do.
