Pretty easy to assemble if you have basic tooling skills. The only downside is that the swivel seat rotates best when your body weight is on the seat. The chair looks really good and the seat is very comfortable. However, do not try to put pressure on your back. After the initial assembly, I noticed that the backrest of the chair sags very slightly when subjected to a light load. With a little more weight, the back of the chair flexed even more and would not return to its original position. It had to be bent back into its original position. Bought the 32" stools first but came back for the 28" stools and they look much better. My breakfast bar is only 40 inches tall in photos for comparison. As a useful tip for those who open the packaging and doubt the plastic on the seat and under the seat: it takes about 1 minute to remove. I bought six of these bar height swivel stools. You are perfect. They are lightweight, easy to assemble and look great. I have a custom steampunk dining table that I had trouble getting the chairs for and they work great. The price was right, it didn't take long to get them and shipping was easy. Nice chair. It's so well built. The welds are strong and look good. I am replacing a twelve year old chair set that I love so much.
