I use it to give my smoker extra insulation on cold and windy winter days in Chicago. It's super soft and easy to handle. You can cut and shape it as you like. Because it's relatively thick, you'll need strong neodymium magnets to hold it in place. I test some leftover material under an open fire for a few minutes and it holds up. A little glow, a little smoke, but not even close to fire. Works like a charm for my purpose!

They arrived just in time to be usable. I had a tight space between the floor joists and the sub floor where I had to solder. I attached these two carbon fiber spacers to the floor and draped them over the plastic downspouts. I use a burner from Bernz-o-matic. This burner heats up very quickly. When soldering, I saw the edges of the pads glow, but they never caught fire. I soldered and, as I said, didn't burn down the house.

This blanket isn't worth the crazy price considering it caught fire and burned the first time you used it. I was welding a brace under my truck and my gas cap fell off and a piece of metal caught fire and I couldn't blow it up or cover it without completely suffocating it. I don't see any advantage over other materials of this thickness. Don't waste money. The reason it doesn't have a 1 star is because it's not fully burned out due to the thickness.
