Works well with IC-51A plus

This speaker microphone is a compact and efficient addition to the IC-51A plus. There were problems with the delivery, but this did not affect the quality of the microphone.

Pros
  • headsets and microphones
Cons
  • The list will go on.

Excellent microphone; This is Keeper

I bought this mic for my Alinco DJ-MD5 DMR radio. Well why would anyone buy an Icom product for an Alinco radio? Why, because it works much better than the microphones offered by Alinco. I just switched to digital DMR and all my friends who were in this mode suggested the radio first and then the Icom mic. This is the goalkeeper. I will follow you in my review of the Alinco DJ-MD5GPS and the Alinco microphone that doesn't seem to work very well.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • I will add later

You can't go wrong with OEM Icom.

Another very good speaker/microphone from Icom. It's as good or better than the mic in my ID-51A Plus. The speaker, like almost all small microphones with a speaker, is weak but damn loud. The speaker in the ID-51A Plus has a bit more depth and volume than this one. The coiled cord seems to be longer than the speaker/mic I had for the Yaesu FT1D which I LOVE. I also like that the connector has a rubber grommet around it. He fits in perfectly. The mic also has a headphone jack on the bottom…

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Not bad
