Information for newbies on measuring TDS - Zero Water

I (newbie) bought this to compare the two meters that come with my Zero Water products (everybody always reads differently). There are three reading methods on this counter. : KCl, 442tm or NaCl. * You need 442tm (for measuring tap water, river or sea water, fresh water). When setting up, choose the 0.7 setting to get PPM. My waterproof combometer COM-100 for EC, TDS and Temp. works great.

I purchased my COM-100 meter over a year ago in February 2012 and it has worked flawlessly so far. I bought a bottle of 1000 ppm calibration solution with the meter. So far every test I've run on the meter's accuracy has been right for the money with no need to adjust the calibration and I'm still using the original batteries. I mainly use this meter to check the concentration of ionic colloidal silver, which I do at least once a month. I also use it to check the ppm in my home water, hot and…

Updated 6/2/21 I originally gave this meter 5 stars and in terms of accuracy and ease of use it still deserves that rating. However, this is the third I have bought in just over three years. The latest has just started showing inaccurate readings - also by a significant margin. I know this because I had an older one and was able to verify accuracy closely enough to know something was wrong. I've tried swapping out the batteries, which shouldn't really matter, but that's a long go. The first…
