Excellent accurate meter for my purposes - lighting industry

I work in the lighting industry so I measure FC levels before and after setting up a project. This is a great budget knife. I like that it's hand-held and doesn't have to fiddle with the cord if you're only using it at waist height. The retractable cord still allows you to use it remotely if needed, but for my purposes I don't really need that functionality. I would like the protective cap covering the photodetector to be tied somehow. I have to be careful where I put it when using the counter.

Very good "cheap " digital light meter

Purchased to check the level of illumination (not a photo, but, for example, an office, a hallway, etc.). It's a great little device, if a bit cheap - cheap, thin, plasticky and so-so fitting parts that probably won't last long, but will last long enough for casual use. The display is exceptionally large and easy to read and has an additional backlight. Unlike similar cheap products, it comes with a 9V battery so you can start using it as soon as you receive it. Initial disappointment with the product but this is a good gauge.

I need a light meter to measure foot candles. I originally bought another meter that I didn't like and felt cheap, so I returned it and bought this one based on another review of the product. My initial disappointment was that the battery cover has a small Phillips screwdriver the size of the electronics. Cap screw that must be removed to install battery. Since I didn't have such a small screwdriver, I had to buy one. I think that's some kind of design flaw. Either make a standard size screw…
