After trying this product, I'm happy to say it's a great addition to my son's fashion accessories collection. The bucket design is both stylish and practical for outdoor activities like fishing. Bought for my 2 year old as he has very light and sensitive skin. We always let him wear his hat outside during the day, but that wasn't enough. He always came back to the house with hot, rosy cheeks and it wouldn't go away for hours. Once we bought it, its face and shoulders and neck are covered. It's lightweight yet lets the wind through so it doesn't burn or sweat when you wear it.

Why does the throat valve begin and end before the ears begin? Not only does this act as a blinker/interferes with the side view, it causes the entire flap to stretch too much and touch the neck (because they didn't use enough fabric for the flap). And the inner edge (over the entire circumference) of the hat always comes to the front, it looks so ugly. It's an ugly cheap hat! I only bought it for the color otherwise I hated the extra rear rim.
