The timer function does not work. Also, I didn't realize they used battery power when in position. Or you have to turn on the switch at the bottom of the candles when you want to use them and then turn off the switch when you're done. Otherwise, if you leave it on for the remote to work, you'll be using power and wasting your battery by leaving the switch on so it's ready to go when you use the remote. Bad design.

The disappointment with these candles is that after I placed them in the candle holders around the room, the switches were on so I could use the remote control. I turned on the remote control, it's beautiful, they all light up at the same time, I really liked it! Turned it off with the remote. Turned them on in less than 10 days and most had already burned out, defeating the purpose of the larger holders which I couldn't turn on via the switch, hence the remote.

Their plastic wrap is pretty commonplace, so I hide them in all sorts of places: in nice stands, gift bags under the tree, in the tree itself, in old candle trays, in greenery or flower arrangements on the table, etc. I have them. Would have been 5 stars but literally every battery died within a month (about 10 nights of use). They work great but expect a C2032 battery replacement within the first month of use, maybe 30 hours. Otherwise I highly recommend it. UPDATE: Originally given 4 stars but now down to 1 because I replaced all the batteries only to have them die before I even used them! They are "on" all the time to be able to press them on the remote control. Replaced all the batteries and came back a week later…
