works perfectly! - Water Detectors and Alarms

I needed an extension for my water leak detector to reach the top floor while the actual end of the detector is down - works amazing!

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Low Maintenance

Ideal. Easy to use.

Works great. I poured some water on the pipe and the alarm went off. I wish this was before my laundry room, hallway, kitchen and half of my living room flooded.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Minor issues

Saved me a few times

The longer length helps me use a sensor to cover it in front of my air conditioner/stove, water heater and water softener. Much cheaper and easier than adding multiple sensors.

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • There are problems

A small price to pay for intelligence.

These amazing things. Very easy to program. I bought them after a very expensive dishwasher wrecked my kitchen and finished basement. In the next accident, I will be notified quickly and can prevent damage.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Some little things

Does what it's supposed to do

I love the extra length of rope that comes with the encoder. Now it's all over the device and we can catch the leak from any direction. During maintenance the guy accidentally spilled a drop of water on the rope and we know for a fact that it works!

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Weight

Does not work with a defective device.

I assume this wired sensor will work IF the water sensor it is connected to works properly. BUT, as the Wi-Fi connection keeps failing and not reconnecting, this is a moot point. Three sensor units tried and failed. Resideo/Honeywell needs to reconsider this product. If the Wi-Fi connection keeps failing when the router is less than 25 feet in sight (up to 3 separate sensor pods), then it's time to get out.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Newer model could have been chosen

Works with D-Link DCH-S161 Leak Detector

I bought this to use with the D-Link DCH-S161 Leak Detector which also uses a 3.5mm jack but comes with a single point probe becomes. They work great together, although D-Link uses a 4-wire connection and Honeywell uses a 3-wire connection. I'm assuming D-Link uses 4-wire as the default for other sensors. In the photo, the D-Link connector is on the left and the Honeywell connector is on the right. Now I can see water all over the 4ft extension cord.

Pros
  • Permanent Test Results
Cons
  • Appearance

Lost Connections Nightmare

My WiFi is pretty strong. I have a repeater and can use my cell phones and laptops with WLAN anywhere in the house and in the basement without any problems. He slows down a bit in the garage at the other end of the house. Even with fresh batteries, these things basically lose connection all the time, and after getting notifications about lost connections almost constantly for the first week or so, I basically ignore those cheaply bought audible alerts and put the Arlo camera in for a visual…

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Big Price
