My son is very athletic 2.5 years old, he is a master climber/jumper and not clumsy at all. But every time he uses it, he jumps up for about 10 seconds, then his front legs seem to be stuck to the ground, and he's thrown forward over the horse's front onto the ground or into furniture. My son got this for Christmas when he was about 18 months old. At first he liked to hop on it in place, but soon he was jumping all over the house! It's a great way to squeeze out some energy when we're stuck indoors. It comes with a hand pump and is very easy to inflate. I only had to add a little more air once after 4 1/2 months.
