I bought this hard drive case on purpose because it was the only one I could find with a front power button, but the power button doesn't work. At first I thought, okay, it's just a power indicator, but when you press it it makes a click, so it's actually a button that doesn't work. The case still serves its purpose, but I have to reach back to turn it off when not in use. Satisfied with the product, disappointed with the expected function.

Cheap junk. Keeps crashing and needs to restart. Hornettek does not have technical support. No firmware, nothing. It is unlikely that the expert will be able to use the documentation. Don't waste your money on this product.

Fistprints would be well designed! Even though the power light isn't blinking (meaning it should be plugged in), my computer never showed it was plugged in. Thought it might be the cable, bought a new cable but had the same problem. When I connect the drives to my computer using regular SATA connectors, they work fine, so it's definitely a hard drive enclosure.

I bought this case to use as an extension for my WD My Cloud. But before you can use it as such, you need to connect it to Windows or Mac for setup. If you're the kind of person who looks at instructions and assumes you know what you're doing (like me), you probably have a number of issues making it work the way you think it does. This device should have received a 4 star rating in the last almost 11 months, but unfortunately it didn't pass. Previously, the speed was decent and it didn't randomly turn off like some other devices I've tried. It was a little hot but not much. Unfortunately, HornetTek has ignored several of my warranty exchange emails. You come across as a company that doesn't stand behind its product. Look elsewhere for something that will last longer and a brand that values their customers.

I have 3 of these RAID storage devices. This is a great solution for storing a mirror copy of your data (RAID 1) on two identical drives. The performance of USB 3.1 is very high. When copying I get about 120 MB/s throughput. Setup couldn't be simpler: install 2 drives, set the internal switches to RAID 1 and power it on. Simply fresh!
