They are great and far superior to the previous design.

These are excellent and vastly superior to the previous design which required drilling holes in the boots. They hold the batteries tight and don't interfere. Recommend it to anyone who has Hotronics!

Works great, but be careful with the cable.

boot warmers are great - easy to install, work great even on the coldest of days. Be careful though, the point where the cable enters the connector is a weak point and will soon break if you are not careful when grabbing the rubber part (ie DO NOT pull the cable!). I've had several friends' cables fall apart. Hotronics is great for a warranty replacement of up to 2 years with receipt.

Side attachment protects cord from damage

I've been using the cleats for two ski seasons (more than 20 days each season) and I'm generally happy with them. My boots have a built in rear mount, but in the first year of using them the instep tended to hit the battery and damage the cables which had to be replaced. I haven't had this problem with strap mounts as the side of my boot doesn't usually catch.
