Dog Only Benefits

Ideal for small dogs that love to be outdoors. Easy to install. Not too heavy or stiff for traction but safe at the same time. And no one stumbles and mows over the chain lying on the ground! And the chain and fastening mechanism are not clogged with dirt.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Upgrades available

Find another solution

Decent quality stake and case. The cable broke after a short time. The coating on the wire was sheared off by simply rubbing it against the concrete. Both disturbed the correct cable feed. When it got cold outside (not humid) the case was frozen and the wire wasn't removed or pulled back. When I accidentally dropped the clip on the leash and it hit the concrete, the lever you press with your thumb broke.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • No instruction manual

Too much tension for small dogs

This item rotates amazingly 360 degrees and retracts the leash but that is too much tension for a small dog. I now have an 8 month old 10lb Shihtzu puppy, very strong but it takes a lot of effort for her to pull the leash to just sit next to the post. I tried the medium one first as the small one wasn't available. It had too much tension so I ordered a small one but there really isn't much of a difference in tension.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Not the best

Pulls VERY hard, even for a dog in the upper weight range

My dog is 30 pounds and is having a terrible time with this harness. The spring is too tight and despite being on the higher end of the listed weight range, he has a very hard time pulling the line out and keeps pulling back. Even when he can walk, the tension on the cable keeps him under his feet, knocking him off his feet. I can't imagine how heavy that would be for a 15 pound dog. 0/10 do not recommend.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Nothing here

I want to return my purchase

We have made our second purchase in less than two months. If the cable does not retract, it becomes extremely dangerous for the dog. Remember this is a 20 pound puppy. The cable is wrapped around the dog and tightened while the dog tries to free itself. We were very lucky that our dog didn't break any bones or injure himself before we realized he was no longer backing away. We thought the first one was defective and Revain didn't have many options at the time so my wife ordered a second one…

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • old
