Value for money accessory

This is a good medium polarizing filter. There are cheaper models, but also much more expensive ones. A good intermediate compromise.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • No performance

Saved my accessory lens

Great filter for my Nikkor 70-300mm lens. This is a replacement for the one I broke while it was in my camera bag. :(Expensive lesson. Don't store your lens with expensive filters installed.

  • Price
Cons
  • Not bad

Works well for camera and photo

I have no idea how this filter compares to expensive professional filters, but it works for my purposes as an amateur photographer. It counteracts a lot of glare on the water, which is what I wanted. And I had no trouble putting it on and taking it off with my Olympus 14-42 lens. The photos show the difference when I rotate the polarizer.

Pros
  • Best in class
Cons
  • A few minor things

great CPL for my wide angle lens

I used it with my 16mm Rokinon lens for Icelandic landscapes and it gave fantastic results. At one point I thought it was scratched with a microfiber cloth, but I was wrong. When shooting near waterfalls, a lot of water gets into the filter, which requires constant cleaning, and the filter does not wear out.

Pros
  • It's amazing
Cons
  • Big and bulky

This filter made my photo vacation through the canyons of the Southwest so much more fun! The colors he produced were amazing. From how red rocks and cliffs loom next to the deep blue sky, to green, always elusive trees and shrubs that shine like gems. Build Quality - 2. Its thinness is perfect for my ultra wide angle lens. I was concerned that it would be more prone to cross-threading due to its thin construction, but that was never an issue.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Hard to say

No vignetting even at 10mm

I needed a polarizing filter for my ultra wide angle lens and after a little research I found that vignetting at the widest angles is very difficult to avoid and that a good quality fine filter can reduce the problem, but may not fix it. I chose the Hoya filter. I'm glad I did. Paired with a Canon 10-18mm lens there is no vignetting even at 10mm. Since the filter is very thin, care must be taken during installation that the threads are not damaged. The Canon lens cap attaches seamlessly to the…
