I needed a polarizing filter for my ultra wide angle lens and after a little research I found that vignetting at the widest angles is very difficult to avoid and that a good quality fine filter can reduce the problem, but may not fix it. I chose the Hoya filter. I'm glad I did. Paired with a Canon 10-18mm lens there is no vignetting even at 10mm. Since the filter is very thin, care must be taken during installation that the threads are not damaged. The Canon lens cap attaches seamlessly to the Hoya polarizer. Finally, the optical quality is excellent. I see no signs of distortion or chromatic aberration. Also, I don't see the polarizer dark streaks in the sky that some less expensive polarizers produce. The color deepening effect is smooth and comfortable. The operation of the rotating bezel is smooth, the bezel will hold the position it is rotated to.
