I ordered this monitor for my IBM laptop. I mainly use my Mac, so I didn't need anything big for a PC, just something bigger than a laptop screen. I upgraded an Acer 17.5 monitor that was 4-5 years old and has lost a lot of brightness over the years from constant use. This monitor was so bright at default settings when I first turned it on that I couldn't keep my eyes open for a while. The default setting is 75% brightness, but make sure you lower it to around 40-50% to reduce eye strain.
