Great price for a quality filter. My father-in-law's Duramax oil filter is always very difficult to remove. You'd think King Kong tightened it up, but since I'm the one who always changes it, I know that's not the case. The welded nut is great for easy removal. No complaints here.

I will answer your question. NO, I did not leave the old seal. I have used and believed in many K&N filters in the past, but this one changed my mind. I will not buy this filter again. Back to AC Delco, sorry K&N. I drove 5,000 miles with the filter but it never sealed properly.

Best suited K&N, built-in swivel nut. Bought this filter for my 2006 Chevy 3500 Diesel Twin. The filter exceeded my expectations. I used this filter on my recent trip to Alaska, 9200 miles. Because of the life expectancy of this filter, I didn't have to change the oil before the computer told me it was time for an oil change. Worth the price. Highly recommended.

I love k&n filters, the 1 star rating doesn't reflect the quality of the filter at all. It was for the terrible useless garbage that survived the flood, hurricanes, tornadoes, zombie apocalypse and earthquake that AMAZON sent to me. I have a broken dirty filter, see picture.
