Not compatible with HP Specter x360 13-ae013dx

Didn't work as expected with HP Specter x36013-ae013dx. The docking station couldn't work with two 2.5k screens, although the specs say it will work. I ended up sending it back to the seller.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Can't remember

Works almost fine with Macbook Pro and HP monitor

Works almost fine with Macbook Pro and HP monitor. The only problem is that sometimes when the MacBook wakes up from sleep, the dock is still in sleep mode and won't turn on the display and USB port. So I have to remove and reconnect the USB-C cable for it to work properly.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Minor issues

Works on my HP Elitebook x360 1040 G6

I bought this docking station for work and it seems to work fine on my HP Elitebook x360 1040 G6. I can even use BitLocker on the login screen, but that might be an organic setting and not a feature of the dock itself. So far I haven't had any issues in the last eight months of ownership.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Doesn't work with Elitebook 840 G2

Although it should be universal, it didn't work with HP Elitebook 840 G2. RJ45 (internet), mouse and keyboard were fine but the displays didn't work so I bought this device. It has a USB-C connector which I adapted to USB-A. Called HP tech support and they couldn't help as it just wasn't working with this laptop.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Expensive

Great product for connecting HP Specter 360 to all external devices

The docking station works great with my HP Specter 360. It has 2 connected monitors as well as an ethernet cable modem for a wired internet connection. I also connected my computer speakers to it. I just love the versatility, ease of use and reliability of this product. A must-have item for the home office, both for work from home and personal use.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • boring packaging

Works well but with one caveat

90% ready to use. The other 10% required entering the BIOS on my HP laptop (F10) to enable resolutions above 1080p when connected to a USB-C dock, but at the cost of USB speed downgrading to USB 2.0. After that, my 1440p monitor showed up at full resolution with a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz. I have connected another monitor (1200p) at 60Hz. I have no problems with anything else.

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Available in white only

The HDMI connector turns off the monitor at intervals for a few seconds

The same monitor connected directly to the laptop (HP Envy 360) works without problems. When using a hub, the same monitor goes blank for a few seconds every 10-20 minutes. This was HP's recommended model for the Envy 360, and it costs a lot more than many other devices on the market, but has the problem of running a single-monitor monitor. I wanted to use a hub to connect a monitor, keyboard, mouse and DVD recorder with one port while sitting on a computer desk with a laptop. I've had goodโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Clarity

This document. It just works!

I recently bought an HP Envy x360, my first laptop upgrade in a very long time, and since we implemented a work from home policy I needed the ability to connect to multiple monitors and an Ethernet connection (surprise, this laptop doesn't have an ethernet port!) so after some research I settled on this docking station. This docking station just works without installing drivers or hassles. And that on both Windows 10 and Fedora 31 Linux. I had Windows until I fully configured it for my regularโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • The list will be long.
