Replaced an old car

A few years ago I had an HP350 G1. It was an i5 machine and it has served me well. Bought a new one (this one) which is an i7 and migrated data from the old i5 machine. Works well. But now I understand that this device does NOT have a fingerprint port like the other older one. I don't really care as I don't recognize fingerprints but it shows a fingerprint port in the product photo so it should be there. As this is an outdated, discontinued machine, I doubt it matters. Few will buy them!

  • Beautiful

Pretty fast except for Wi-Fi connection

It has options for paint programs and such, but its internet connection is terrible. It must be the internal antenna that is not doing its job. Other laptops in our house can be in the same place, have 15 browser tabs open and still be fast. What takes 2 minutes to boot on one of our other laptops runs 3 hours on this one and then crashes. All of our laptops run Windows 7 and use the same browser and although it has the most CPU and RAM, the internet connection is slow even with only one…

  • Impressive
Cons
  • Doesn't go well with everything

good laptop Bought for my girlfriend for Christmas

Good laptop. Bought for my girlfriend for Christmas. I chose this one because it was new and had Windows 7 Pro. Never had anything with Windows 8. Does a great job of everything a good laptop should be. The screen size is just right, not too small and not too big. Fast processor, lots of RAM. There are no bloated programs installed that need to be removed. HP got it right.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Modern

Everything about this laptop is good except the screen

VERY IMPORTANT: Use Windows 10 when you buy this computer. It originally shipped with Windows 8 and at the time it was sent to me it was downgraded to Windows 7. THIS IS A BIG MISTAKE. Downgrading a Windows 8 computer to Win 7 caused a HUGE amount of problems. In fact, the computer didn't work at all. After upgrading to Win 8 and then to Win 10, all issues were resolved and everything is working properly. I had to do some research to figure out why it worked so poorly with Windows 7, but that's

Cons
  • The packaging is ugly

I had to return this computer because the performance was terrible. I compared the computer to a cheaper Dell I5 laptop and a very old HP workstation (Centrino Duo) and it was slower in every way. The overall WEI (Windows Experience Index) scored a low 5.1 (which is actually worse than older computers with an old I5 processor). A computer expert told me that HP uses cheap quality parts so the I7 processor doesn't outweigh the rest of the machine. I bought this computer because it had Windows 7…

  • Excellent overall performance
