Epson ink will dry out if you don't print every other day. HP inks are still ready to use even after months without printing. So I bought an HP 932XL from Revain rather than a local store just to convince myself as I also bought a 'color' set. Recently I had to replace my black ink (932XL) and it went into an error state through my printer. I had to contact HP and they told me the cartridge was defective due to an error. Too bad this is after the normal return date (expiry date is 07/2019). Before that I had no problems with one set of colors. I had to buy locally to get around the error condition this cartridge gave.

I received this cartridge on August 1st and on August 15th I received a low ink message. I've printed about 3 times since I replaced it, 10 pages total. I have NEVER had this problem before. The ink has always lasted much longer than it used to. I don't know if they are fakes they put in HP boxes. I opened the box of replacement color ink cartridges and noticed they weren't in the blister packs. Black was packaged the same way. So I don't know if that makes her dry or if I was scammed. A diehard Revain fan BUT I will NEVER buy Revain printer ink again! Bought four new HP cartridges - not cheap and two of the four were remanufactured, not NEW. This black one failed and suddenly my printer is throwing error messages. We contacted Revain and they referred us to HP. HP told us that this printer has served us well and we just need to buy a new one. Absolutely no problems with this printer until I bought over $100 NEW HP ink cartridges from Revain.

None of the HP cartridges I've ever bought have lasted very long. They tend to leak, especially the colored ones, and are expensive. Trying to save money and refill cartridges is gambling on whether they will work. Most of the time we still had to get real HP after refilling to make it work (HP trap). Our HP printer recently died and we have not received another HP printer. Freedom!
