🔌 Hubbell-Bell 5407 0 - 32-inch Weatherproof Extension Review

This is a metal extension for an outdoor metal electrical box. It worked great to make room for some of the Wemo switches.

Combined with the rest of the box and Taymac weather resistance, this makes the perfect temperature control module for my aquaponic heater. .

Just right for adding depth to a GFI or light timer. I had reservations about using this with my existing Carlon PVC plastic box but it fit perfectly. Like others I had a hard time installing the gasket but after a bit of work it was lined up correctly.

This extension is advertised to fit the Hubbell-Bell PDB77550GY Weatherproof Box (Revain ASIN B0044FX108) but the box does not have screw holes for this mount. Also the padding is useless as it is too small (width and height) to cover the top of the box. To use this you will need to redrill the holes in the extension. This product is a metal extension for the outside box. (The box I extended was plastic) The mounting holes did not match the box I bought from the big box store. My biggest complaint is the cheap, flimsy gasket that is IMPOSSIBLE to line up and actually make a gasket. I will use silicone sealant to seal the box.

God thank you for these enhancements. In my wiring for my pool pump, some yahoo literally stuffed at least 5 stranded 12ga wires into ONE wire nut for grounding. And that for 240 V devices!
