HUE Webcam Green Built Windows Review

If you decide to buy, open and test it as soon as you receive it. I waited a bit before opening it as I bought it for work and didn't need it right away. It didn't work at all - the image got stuck and Revain's help chat couldn't fix it so I got my money back which was quick and easy. Instead, I bought a Speedal Stream webcam and it worked right out of the box. I am using Microsoft Surface with Windows 10 Pro.

For $25 I got a portable USB powered visualizer that I carry in my laptop bag and take with me from class to class! This is sufficient to demonstrate student work and/or demonstrate math problem solving. Sensitivity to light is good. My only concern is that the gooseneck could use an injection of Viagra or Cialis - it sags a bit when fully extended ;)

Claimed as a visualizer: HUE HD is not large enough to display the entire page. Image quality was not clear enough to make printed text acceptably sharp at certain distances/focus points. It could be a good webcam, but it doesn't work very well (in my opinion) as a document camera. I might have been spoiled with high end devices (Elmo) but even at a great price it wasn't enough to use in my class.

I used this camera to simulate various written prompts for my preschoolers who were studying virtually this summer. I really liked that it's light and versatile. I found it useful for simulating math at the same time. My students were totally engaged with the lessons they could see on this camera. I also love green.

Works great and the resolution is better than some of the more expensive ones. We use it as a document camera in the classroom, connected to a Windows 8 computer and a projector. Used daily.

I sent it back and quickly received the second one, but after a few days of use it crashed again.

I use it as a document camera in my class. It basically gets the job done, although it doesn't adapt well to a dark room. It can be difficult to get him to focus. However, I use it every day and will continue to do so because it's so much better than standing in front of my Promethean board battling the tech with two dozen high schoolers fooling around behind me.

I have a Mac Mini (version 10.11.1 El Capitan). The HUE webcam works great with Mac Photo Booth, QuickTime Player and FaceTime. (I wasn't trying to have an actual FaceTime session, but my picture appears on the login screen when I launch the app.) The HUE webcam's built-in microphone also works well.
