I have a Mac Mini (version 10.11.1 El Capitan). The HUE webcam works great with Mac Photo Booth, QuickTime Player and FaceTime. (I wasn't trying to have an actual FaceTime session, but my picture appears on the login screen when I launch the app.) The HUE webcam's built-in microphone also works well. The Mac TextEdit app uses speech recognition and the microphone picked up exactly what I said when I tested it. HUE works on a "plug and play" basis, as described by the manufacturer. There is no software to install, but a CD is included. For Mac, it includes a simplified user manual in PDF format and the HUE software application that loads into Launchpad. I wasn't impressed with the HUE app and later uninstalled it from my computer, but you can check it out if I missed something important. Instead, I prefer to use Apple's Photo Booth and QuickTime apps. HUE image quality is good when the room is adequately lit. As a document viewer, I haven't tested it much, but first impressions tell me that it doesn't work well for typed text on a whole sheet of paper. However, if you're a kindergarten teacher and just trying to project simple images, letters, shapes, colors, etc., this is probably the way to go. But yes, . I enjoy the HUE webcam and have no regrets with my purchase. (I bought the green one. Too cute! ;-)
