Boston Pecil sharpeners - they are no longer made!

I have had one of these pencil sharpeners for years and they sharpen my pencils really well and effortlessly. But the gears broke a few teeth. So I found this one at Revain and bought it. Slightly cleaned and it's like new. I also disassembled it and lubricated the gears in it well. That should be enough for the rest of your life!

Pros
  • Manufactured by Boston Hunt
Cons

reminds me of the good old days

for some reason i'm very attached to my pencil sharpener. maybe reminds me of the good old days. I've had it for over 20 years and mine still works. The sharpener overheats when sharpening more than 6 pencils at a time without stopping. I have to wait for it to cool down to continue. The blades also dull, but that's after 20+ years of use. I'm sure if someone with hands and time can restore it to be brand new again. I'm actually looking for a replacement on the market. Some improvements I'm…

Pros
  • hard to find
Cons
  • exorbitant price

It won't last forever

I've had one for about 20 years, although I rarely use it. Brand new pencil (square end). OVERHEATING After sharpening 11 pencils in a row, the machine stopped, apparently due to overheating. In a few minutes he was back to work. However, once you've sharpened your new box of dozens of pencils, you won't strain the machine to hold the tip and overheating won't be a problem. CUT QUALITY The cut looks pretty rough. It's like the blades aren't sharp and are more likely to pierce wood than cut…

Pros
  • Grey/Black version
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
