It won't last forever

I've had one for about 20 years, although I rarely use it. Brand new pencil (square end). OVERHEATING After sharpening 11 pencils in a row, the machine stopped, apparently due to overheating. In a few minutes he was back to work. However, once you've sharpened your new box of dozens of pencils, you won't strain the machine to hold the tip and overheating won't be a problem. CUT QUALITY The cut looks pretty rough. It's like the blades aren't sharp and are more likely to pierce wood than cut straight. This is probably because the blades are no longer sharp. X-Acto took over the Boston company, so I'll have to ask them about it. Where the graphite leaves the wood the transition is not very smooth and I think the graphite is somewhat unsupported at this critical point.

Pros
  • Grey/Black version
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
