It's an LED, not a CFL - even better than the description

This should have been the standard lighting for this 60 inch Hunter Regal fan! every time the fan was on and they weren't bright enough. Attempting to repair the OEM unit and touching the bulb caused the entire lighting unit to short out, requiring the unit to be replaced. Description says CFL bulbs but even includes more efficient LED bulbs. Installation was pretty easy, less than 1/2 hour. The light is much brighter and actually brightens up the room. Two standard socketed bulbs look like…

How to upgrade from a candelabra to a standard base lightbulb

I am using this product in a way not intended by the manufacturer. Two of our Hunter ceiling fans came with chandelier size light fittings. They came with a set of Zing Ear 301d tips. We have ceiling fans and dimmer bulbs so there isn't a huge range of CFL bulbs. I tried using LED candelabra lights but they are too dim to light up the room. Using this kit, which comes with a set of Zing Ear 310d sockets for standard base lights, I was able to convert two of our fans to work with standard size…

Solved my problem in wall lights

My lighting kit broke under warranty and it has been on hold for almost 2 months instead of having a room without lights for as long as I was after one I was looking for a kit for a new lamp, but I wanted to get away from the small chandelier bulbs, which eat up energy and get very hot. There wasn't much choice to convert to CFL/LED and then I found this. It will perfectly match your existing Hunter fan. The color of this light set wasn't important to me as I have a shell lamp anyway that…

Works great but had to add some details

I bought two of these after years of trying to find 100 watt candelabra bulbs and finally got rid of that search. Yes, as with many of the reviews here, my two Hunter Hunter fans weren't quite up to par with this replacement setup. I found the perfect way to make this work. For about $10 more I bought Angelo Brothers 70150 Eight Nipples Assorted. This allowed me to add a coupler and a small threaded pipe to extend the bottom. Now I can put in a big lamp with lots of space. I removed the bottom…

Still not a bad product.

After only about a year, our new Hunter fan decided one day to burn out both 60 watt lightbulbs at the same time! We changed the bulbs to no avail and thought the lighting kit had somehow gone bad. I couldn't believe how expensive these kits were, but I was lucky enough to find one in stock from Revain for $17. We were happy to see that it used "regular" lightbulbs (with a large standard base) instead of those tiny candelabra bulbs that our old one used. The downside was that we had to wait…
