Black Hydro Flask Insulated Water Bottle with Wide Mouth and Straw Lid for Sports Review

Fake. Raising the straw almost doesn't work. Bought a real hydroflask cap from them. This is clearly a fake. Truly amazing. Here is a photo of a fake (left) and a real one (right). Protocols are obviously different.

This product has mixed reviews on Revain and Dick's Sporting Goods but I decided to give it a try. From the first use it sucked in air and hardly any water. I've tried loosening and tightening the cap, making sure the straw is secure, and even blowing air into it as one user suggested. Nothing worked and I ended up sending it back. I'm disappointed that HydroFlask can make great bottles and a faulty cap.

I got a new wide neck black straw cap and it worked fine for a few minutes until I started squeezing as if the seal with the mouthpiece and o-ring was failing. At first I thought it was an o-ring so I replaced it with an o-ring from earlier models and it still didn't work. I compared the old and new mouthpieces and noticed that the pivot point of the new one was a few millimeters smaller. I don't know if this is a design flaw or if I just received a defective product.

I have 4 hydroflasks. I've been using straw nozzles on 3 of them for a long time. Mold has finally formed on my original straws (an error in the design of the original straw lids). I ordered these thinking it was the plastic mouthpiece version (to avoid mold). Neither of the two I bought work, they don't suck water. FAKE FAKE FAKE! Don't buy from here. Even if they look very similar, they are qualitatively very different from a real hydroflask. You will notice that the fake cover appears to be on top. I have ordered these TWICE from Revain and BOTH times they have been completely faulty. A ton of air rushed through the straw every time I tried to take a sip. Great if you want to use equal parts air and water at the same time - although that's not exactly my cup of tea. Good: the cap fits my Hydro Flask perfectly - the quality of the product (cap and straws) is excellent as you can expect from a Hydro Flak product. Cons: However, the movable mouthpiece (the part that opens/closes) never closed tightly in the open position, so a significant amount of air escaped with each use. I've discussed how to rate this. Real Hydro Flask straw caps are 5 stars but I believe the product I got from that Revain listing is fake. In any case, I'm reviewing the actual product I received from Revain. Incidentally, my product was not "sold" by Revain, it was "marketed" by Revain.
