I've tried using it as an in-line pump for my canister filter under my tank, but even after trying to seal every port as tightly as possible , he licked like the connectors were made of gauze. Not useful for my application.

Perfect match for my fountain. The suction points point downwards to prevent the pump from running dry prematurely. UPDATE: The pump worked during the summer months but broke down in the fall as I was preparing to put it away for the winter. The pump shaft fell out of the case and wouldn't let it rotate unless shaken, so I think I'll look for another pump.

I bought this for a project that needed an inline pump. Unfortunately, the pump's in-line installation leaks and the included adapters don't provide a secure seal and are easily detached. Fortunately, this pump is very quiet and works great as a submersible pump. However, it should not be used as an in-line pump.

Unconventional use - I made this a small outdoor dog drinking fountain. My standard poodle has always preferred moving water and she loves this fountain. See fig. It is easy to clean and the adjustable flow is very useful in getting just the right amount of splashing jet noise and fountain height for the dog. Very happy with this pump.

Today I used this device for the first time. I needed to use an inlet line so I purchased Valterra W01-1600PB clear vinyl tubing - 1/2 inch x 10 feet as recommended by Revain. But no matter what I did - I couldn't get it to suck up water due to the lack of suction. However, if I submerge the whole block in water - it works, but it defeats the design I was trying to implement. I am going to return it until you have one with more power.

I got this pump for my hydronomic garden. It runs on a timer so it doesn't run continuously. It worked fine for about a month but now when it turns on you can hear it trying to turn but it's not pumping water. The water was kept clean, there was nothing in the filter so couldn't even get close to clogging. If you take it out of the water and put it back in, it will start up again, but that's not how it should work. It ended up being a waste of money and killing almost all my veggies.

I bought this to help change the water in my aquarium and it didn't disappoint! Normally, in order for water to flow from a bucket into an aquarium, the bucket must be raised. With limited space, it just didn't work for me. With this pump I can just connect a hose, drop the device into a bucket on the floor and be done in 5 minutes.
