Didn't even last a year.

I have a 2005 Toyota Rav4, wasn't sure if I would need an extra resistor but turned out I didn't need one. They work great. I only use the bulb on my center brake light, it looks pretty sleek and brighter than regular brake lights. It doesn't seem very bright. There may be a legal issue. You may need a resistor.

Police officer told me they are illegal in New York. Of course he didn't give any code or anything, he just said "that's not what the manufacturer put in there". Not CAN-compatible and slightly larger in diameter and length than a glass bulb.

These lamps are not CAN compatible. They will run cars (tested in VW, Mercedes-Benz and Toyota) with a diagnostic system to alert you to a blown bulb. If you plan to use them in a modern OBDii equipped vehicle you will also need to modify the wiring harness to include a 47 ohm 5w resistor. Make sure they fit snugly.

I really liked the brake light bulbs at first. But eventually they stopped working and I'm not sure when. I noticed today that they aren't working when I went early enough and checked my garage door was closed before I drove out and that's when I noticed. I have no idea how long they've been out of service as people on the street don't have the decency to report problems like this to you.
